There were many celebrities on the ship. Some were flown in to perform and then flown to their next destination while some entertainers remained on the ship the entire week. There were some celebrities that were not performing. They were just there to enjoy the cruise like everyone else.
It's rare that I encounter a celebrity in my day to day life so, in my mind, I tend to see them as well-dressed images on a TV screen. Therefore, encounters like the day the elevator doors opened and out steps Brian McKnight in shorts and a tank top or the afternoon I was in the buffet line at the Windjammer Cafe and saw Minister Louis Farrakhan stroll by in a sweat suit, brought home the reality that these people exist outside of television and they enjoy their time off like the rest of us.
We had many celebrity sightings throughout the week. I ran into many of them in the elevators and at the midnight buffets. It was always a fun dinner table conversation to share stories of who we spotted that day. I probably saw more famous people than I recognized. For example, I found out later that the nice couple who chatted with Traci and me in the elevator about the beach party was Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. and his wife. Here is my list of celebrity sightings:
J. Anthony Brown and Minister Louis Farrakhan
Traci and Dr. Bobby Jones after a morning workout
Traci and Bruce Bruce
Brian McKnight at the pool party
